Practicum

Welcome Aboard!

If you've come to write about your practicum experience, here's what you do:

  • To make your first practicum entry: From the menu on the left, under the Practicum heading, click on Create Wiki. This will open a page wherein you can make your entry. Give your new entry a title in the Title field that contains your practicum site (e.g., Crisis Services Practicum), and then type in your opening content (a general introduction to the site and the kind of things you'll be doing) in the Body field. When done, click on the Submit button on the bottom of the page.

  • To make an addition to your practicum entry: Click on the My Work tab at the top of this page and then click on the title that you gave your first entry. Then choose the Edit tag and make your additions or changes in the Body field. You should add new material below or after old material so that future students who read your page can start at the top and read down.

For a model of what your practicum page should look like, check out Megan Gorski's practicum page.

If you've come to read about the practicum experiences of others, dig in! Hope you learn things that will help you make choices. During the summer and fall of 2008 we'll be working on the pages to make it easier for you to find and read practica entries that specifically interest you.

Before we had the PLL, students wrote about their practicum experiences on separate wikis. You can find the pages of Clinical/Counseling students on the CanisiusPsychology wiki and School Psychology students on ProfBayer wiki.
